Jeffrey M. Wilson, M.D.

Dr. Jeff Wilson grew up in York, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Delaware for his undergraduate studies, graduating Cum Laude while earning a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Biology.  After finishing at Delaware he began his medical study at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and graduated in 1998.  Upon completion of his Medical Degree, Dr. Wilson moved to Rhode Island to begin his residency in Family Medicine at Brown University and completed his training in the spring of 2001.

In 2005 Dr. Wilson joined Drs. Puerini and Rosenberg to form Family Health and Sports Medicine.  During his training and time in private practice Dr. Wilson has continued to cultivate a focus in sports medicine as the head team physician at Johnson and Wales University as well as contributing to Providence College athletics and recently joining the faculty of the Brown University Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Although sports medicine is an important part of his practice, Dr. Wilson’s main pursuit remains primary care and preventative medicine.  Caring for patients from pediatric to geriatric, Family Health and Sports Medicine leads the way as a Patient Centered Medical Home.  Dr. Wilson also remains active in a teaching role, routinely lecturing and facilitating the education of medical students from the Brown University School of Medicine and the residencies from both Brown University and Kent Hospital.

Dr. Wilson’s practice philosophy is family based and preventative in nature.  He puts a tremendous focus on health and wellness, believing in the power of exercise and plant based diets.  Having been a vegan for many years and running multiple marathons and half-marathons means that he ‘practices what he preaches’, but still deeply understands the potential barriers that people may face in reaching their health goals, wanting his patients to feel comfortable, cared for and heard.

Dr. Wilson has lived in Cranston, RI since 1999 with his wife, two children and family dog.  In his free time he enjoys running, snowboarding, kayaking, golf and hiking.
