Sports Medicine is not only the treatment of injury during competition, it encompasses a wide variety of health issues related to an active lifestyle. At FHSM, we provide high quality care not only for bumps and sprains but also for other serious medical issues that can impact an athletes performance including eating disorders, sports nutrition, and concussion management. We routinely care for both elite and recreational athletes of all ages. Dr. Puerini has been the Head Team Physician at Providence College since 1988 . Dr. Rosenberg has been Team Physician at Providence College since 2003. Dr. Wilson is the Head Team Physician at Johnson & Wales University since 2005. All three of our doctors are Assistant Professors of Family Medicine at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, teaching sports medicine to medical students and Family Medicine residents. Drs. Puerini, Rosenberg, and Wilson were an integral part of the creation of the new Brown University Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship which will graduate its first fellow in 2015.
